The town clerk is an appointed and salaried official who, after a 3-year probationary period, holds office during good behavior and may be removed only for cause. The town clerk is also required by state law to be bonded.

The town clerk is responsible for maintaining the public records of the town as required by Connecticut State Statutes. Connecticut’s Freedom of Information laws require that most town records, with the exception of some births, be open for public inspection.

Effective October 1, 2003 Dog License Fees for non-spayed and non-neutered dogs will increase by three dollars pursuant to public act 03-103. This fee will be $19.00. The existing fee of eight dollars for spayed and neutered dogs will remain the same.

Please Note:  Payments to the Town Clerk’s office can only be made by cash or check.
