2018 Appeal Application for Real Estate, Personal Property and 2017 Supplemental Motor Vehicle.

ESTABLISHED: Established by Section 9-199 of the Connecticut General Statutes.

CHARGE/DUTIES: The Board of Tax Review is charged with hearing appeals from taxpayers claiming to be aggrieved by the Tax Assessor.

ELECTED/APPOINTED: Elected in regular Town election with candidates proposed by the Town’s political parties.

MEMBERSHIP: Three regular members.

LENGTH OF TERM: Four-year terms.

MEETING DATE/TIME/PLACE: Board meets in March to hear real, motor vehicle and personal property appeals and in September to hear motor vehicle appeals only.

EXPERIENCE AND/OR INTEREST NECESSARY/PREFERRED: Members should preferably have a background in tax law, land development or real estate.
